You may wonder what makes Kicks Karate so unique? Or, how are we different from other martial arts schools?
There are a
multitude of reasons we could list, but here
are just a few:
First, all our
children's classes are divided by age and skill
level. Very young children are separated
from older kids, and adults have their own
classes as well. We believe that in order
to properly motivate and teach students of
different age, attention span, and skill
levels, our classes must be divided
accordingly. This also helps eliminate
any fears a new student may have about joining
classes because the pace of beginner classes is
geared to their skill level.
Next, we believe that in order to improve,
students must get top-flight instruction. To
make that happen, we have several full-time
professional instructors on duty at each
location. This ensures that we have a very low
student/teacher ratio in all of our
classes. This is very important to any
students ability to learn.
At Kicks
Karate our motto is, “Never
Give Up.” In
fact, we devised a very unique reward system
that encompasses our belt structure and dynamic
curriculum to help keep students
motivated.
It teaches
them how to set and achieve short and
long-term goals, while rewarding them for
progress. This makes reaching goals
easier and more
satisfying.
Finally, we
realized a long time ago that the more fun
students are having, the more they learn.
That's why we make our classes as fun, safe and
entertaining as possible. We've coined
the term "EDU-TAINMENT"
to describe this concept. After all, if
it's not fun and enjoyable, why would a child
want to be involved in it? And if it's
not safe and educational, why would a parent
enroll their child in our
program?
What type of martial
arts do we
teach?
At Kicks Karate we teach many
types of martial arts. However, the key
point we want to emphasize here is that
all of our programs were created to suit the
specific needs of the age group. For
example, it would be a very good idea, in fact
prudent, for an adult female student to learn
how to defend herself from a frontal choke
attack. On the other hand, it would be
foolish and irresponsible for us to teach a 4
or 5 year old child these choke defenses.
We gear each program to the needs of the
students in that particular age
group.
However, it's important to mention
that each of our programs blends the
appropriate levels of karate skills
(kicking, striking, blocking), kickboxing,
jujitsu (joint locks, escapes, defenses),
de-escalation theories, non-violent conflict
resolution and life skill development together
to form a fantastic
program.
Consistency
Consistency, patience and effort are all fundamental to success in any program. However, we understand that our student's lives and schedules are very busy. That's why we recommend that students attend classes an average of twice per week for maximum benefits. We also offer very flexible class schedules that will allow you to find time to attend classes no matter how busy your day-to-day schedule becomes.Instruction
All the instructors at Kicks
Karate have been selected and trained by
Master John Bussard, Founder and President of
Kicks Karate. They go through an
extensive and ongoing training program that
allows us to maintain consistency, safety and
top notch instruction at all of our locations.
In addition, our instructors are
full-time martial arts
professionals. They've spent years
developing excellent physical skills, but
more importantly, they continually train
to stay current on the latest and most
effective teaching techniques and instructional
methods. Because Master Bussard expects the
most from the instructors at Kicks Karate,
you can expect unequalled martial arts
instruction from them.
Our martial arts programs offer quality instruction in a safe fun filled atmosphere for learning. The classes are well-organized, fun, and educational. They hold and improve a child’s attention span and eventually improve their ability to learn. Learning breeds a sense of accomplishment and this ultimately leads to the development of self-confidence. What a precious gift to give a child --- self-confidence!
Self-confidence gives children the key to success in karate, school, and in life. We believe the road to success is paved with self-confidence. Self-confidence will not only help your child
succeed in the classroom, but will also support your child’s efforts at anything they hope to accomplish in life.
